Sylvester Stallone Stars in ‘Kansas City’ from Taylor Sheridan and Terence Winter at Paramount Plus

Sylvester Stallone meeting Yellowstone in Kansas City, a new one Supreme + series from Taylor Sheridan. The news marks Stallone’s first foray into major television roles, having starred in a number of classics such as Police Story and Kojak back in the 70s. More recently, he was featured in the NBC TV series This is us. For his film roles, Stallone only played King Shark in Suicide Squad, and is set to appear in movies like Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Accounts payable 4, and Little America.

Kansas City will bring together rising TV star Sheridan, whose works Yellowstone and Mayor of Kingstown earned him acclaim at Paramount and Winter, creator of Boardwalk Empire and the writer on Sopranos. The series will be produced by 101 Studio, the company behind the Sheridan universe series, and MTV Entertainment Studios. Stallone and his Balboa Productions partner Braden Aftergood will also produce.

The TV series will follow an Italian mobster in New York City in one of the least fishy locations: Kansas City, Missouri. Set in the present day, the legendary Sal (Stallone) is faced with the “incredible task of re-establishing his Italian mafia family in the modernized town of Kansas City, Missouri. There, Sal meets surprising and unsuspecting characters who follow him on his unique path to power. ”

Winter, Sheridan and Stallone will serve as executive producers alongside David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle and Bob Yari of 101 Studios. Winter will act as host and active writers’ room.
