The device has a 360 hinge, meaning you could theoretically let the inside screen become the outer display, but the latest generation, Surface Duo 2, no longer folds flat when fully opened, has This idea is no longer available. Feasibility.
For that device, Microsoft has another solution, the slider bar, but this has pretty poor visibility from most angles.
Currently a Surface Duo owner, Rainbow, posted another pretty cool idea.
He suggests using the Microsoft logo on the device for basic notifications, like the small notification screen on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.
Because it will only be for basic notifications, it won’t need to be touchscreen and won’t significantly affect the thickness of the device.
And if you prefer just showing the logo, the monitor can do that too.
