Supermassive Games is recruiting for an online multiplayer game with fighting and RPG elements

The House of Ashes and Little Hope developers are recruiting for an unannounced new game, but it’s unclear what Supermassive has.
It seems Super big game ready to start its next project. The company recently posted a job listing for its next unannounced game and Super big game is shedding light on what that project will entail.
Today, Supermassive is best known for its Shadow Pictures anthology with “Lovecraftian Horror meets Indiana Jones” position House of Ashes is the latest installment in that particular series to drop. With three games in that series already completed and another in the works, it’s not entirely clear if the unannounced project the company is hiring will be a fifth with a slight twist. change, or whether this could be an entirely new IP.
The job listing on the company’s official website states that anyone recruited for the new position will be working on a multiplayer title. Because this is an unannounced new game, the only title that has been officially excluded is Upcoming Devil Inside me. Also, it looks like a multiplayer game would be outside of the Dark Pictures anthology, but the fact of the matter is that these games have multiplayer functionality. Whether talking about couch co-op versions or online two-player features that allow players to experience the game through different POVs, there’s a chance Supermassive could work on a different game like House of Ashes.
On the other hand, the recruitment ad that continues to talk about combat systems and progression sounds like the company is making an RPG. None of those features sound as great as the latest games the company has developed.
It should also be pointed out that while Supermassive may be best known for Dark Pictures Anthology these days, it’s not the only type of game the company has worked on in the past. The studio also put Enhanced version of Little Nightmare 2 definitely offers a very different style of play than House of Ashes, little hope, or Man of Medan.
There is also something to be said about how Dark Pictures Anthology doesn’t have the same success like its predecessor, Until dawn. Maybe this job listing is signaling that Super big game are getting ready to break away from that model and move into more traditional multiplayer fighting games. What’s to come next is likely still in the works for now, but the job listing suggests that an announcement could be coming relatively soon.
