Super Nintendo World theme park to open in US in 2023

Super Nintendo World, a Nintendo-based theme park, will open its first location in the United States at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2023, Nintendo announced Thursday.

According to the official announcement:

The Land of Immersion will be a visual spectacle of vibrant colors and architectural ingenuity located in a newly expanded section of the theme park, featuring a groundbreaking ride and areas interactive, for the whole family to enjoy. Themed shopping and dining will enhance the whole experience.

While the park is spacious with a Nintendo theme, the focus so far has been on Mario franchise, with Mario, Toad, Yoshi and the rest of the gang themed attractions, games, and shops, as well as games that are modeled after popular series like Mario Kart.

The theme park’s first iteration, a partnership between Nintendo and Universal, opens in Japan in 2021. A Super Nintendo World in Orlando has also been made and was originally scheduled to be the venue. The first point is based in the United States before opening is delayed. There is also a planned future location at Universal Studios Singapore.
