Original Monster Hunter was released on PlayStation 2 in 2004. In a recent interview with Famitsu, longtime series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto said he was aiming to celebrate Monster Hunteranniversary of the year 2024and that the developer will soon start preparing for “various things”. However, he mentioned Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the game’s main DLC expansion, will take precedence as Capcom hopes to launch it “in solid state” this summer. With that being said, it’s unlikely that Capcom has any release plans Sunshine in any kind of “unfinished” state. Claims were made against the base game for having less content than the previous game, even after post-launch content added various Elder Dragons and a formal conclusion to the story. However, it establishes a really solid foundation and Sunshine there seems to be a long runway for improvement based on that baseline.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak was announced during the September 2021 Nintendo Direct, months after the main game’s story ended with a fight against Narwa the All Mother. Event missions have been added to the game since Narwa the All Mother in May 2021 – including crossovers with franchises like Okami, Street fighter, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Meanwhile, Capcom is preparing to launch the PC port of Monster Hunter Rise on January 12th. However, it seems that people are paying more attention to Sunshine, which promises to expand the game through features like “Main Rated” difficulty equivalent to the G-Rated of previous entries.

Some new information about Monster Hunter RiseThe upcoming expansion, much like the return of older monsters like the Shogun Ceanataur, was revealed during Tokyo Game Show 2021 not long after its announcement.
