Sunbreak should not be held back by Capcom’s 2024 plans
Capcom’s Monster Hunter The franchise has grown in popularity over the years, and a few entries have finally helped it become a household name. Monster Hunter World sold millions of copies to showcase its potential on PS4 and Xbox One, and Monster Hunter Rise further improved upon the series’ new open-world transmission elements on Switch. This signals the franchise is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Original Monster Hunter was released on PlayStation 2 in 2004. In a recent interview with Famitsu, longtime series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto said he was aiming to celebrate Monster Hunteranniversary of the year 2024and that the developer will soon start preparing for “various things”. However, he mentioned Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the game’s main DLC expansion, will take precedence as Capcom hopes to launch it “in solid state” this summer. That should be true, because it’s easy to imagine a developer turning his or her attention to the “next big thing” and doing Sunshine The result is feeling rushed or incomplete.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak’s Path So Far

However, it seems that people are paying more attention to Sunshine, which promises to expand the game through features like “Main Rated” difficulty equivalent to the G-Rated of previous entries.
Some new information about Monster Hunter RiseThe upcoming expansion, much like the return of older monsters like the Shogun Ceanataur, was revealed during Tokyo Game Show 2021 not long after its announcement. Then fans got the next bit of big news during the 2021 Game Awards, where a new trailer revealed Lunagaron and hinted Rondine will play a bigger role in Sunshine.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak seems to be on the right track, but shouldn’t be overlooked
A tweet by Monster HunterOfficial fan social media accounts let fans know news related to Sunshine won’t come until spring 2022, which would empty its disclosure and keep too much information from being released soon. So far, no delays have been suggested, which is good in an era where many projects have been impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and this puts Sunshine in a position similar to Monster Hunter Worldbig Iceborne expand before it.
Monster Hunter World Released in January 2018, and its Iceborne The expansion was announced in December ahead of its September 2019 release. Iceborne Overall seen as a huge hit, invigorating the game and helping to drive console and PC sales even further as its own content roadmap drops through to the end of 2020. Hopefully the preparation for the 2024 anniversary project doesn’t get in the way of this, as it will be a pity to see Rise Finally, the developers are busy elsewhere.
