I’ll tell you a secret in a moment, if shoes aren’t 100% socially appropriate, I’ll walk around in flip flops or mules. Whether it’s a trip to the beach in the sun or a trip to the grocery store in the snow, I’ll most likely be wearing mules either way. The unfortunate problem behind this is that for most of my life I’ve had flip flops and mules that just aren’t as comfortable as I’d like them to be. Whether it’s the materials or the shape of the sole, finding a pair of mules that actually fit my foot and feel great is harder than you might think. That was certainly the case, at least until I found SUAVS.

The Eddy Slide is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic woven into a digital knit fabric that allows for an ultra-breathable feel on your feet when worn. In addition, the entire slide is made entirely of sustainable materials. So if you’re a more environmentally conscious shopper, feel free to grab a pair of these.

It would be easy to list the many great features of the mules, including being perfectly safe to machine wash and being able to be laid flat together for easier packing, but the most important factor for me was simply how they felt. The Eddy Slide has a textured sole made from the same moisture-wicking recycled materials and cushioned foam. As I wear the mules, I’ll tell you right away that the textured sole probably feels better than basically any other footwear I’ve worn up to this point. At the same time, despite living in the swampy humidity of a New York summer, my feet were perfectly cool and comfortable. This is especially remarkable considering that every hot day in the city feels like walking through boiling molasses.

So many shoe brands sell their own pair of mules. Most of them just have a logo on the top and are made out of a horrible mix of plastic and rubber that sticks to your feet and really only works as a last resort for shoes. The SUAV Eddy Slide is actually clearly made by hand. It feels like the company put as much time into making it as it does every other pair of shoes it sells. Honestly, just try them on and I doubt you’ll ever wear any other mules again.
