In what promises are Jura franchise version of a Avengers cooperate, Jurassic World: Dominion will end the sequel trilogy by bringing back the original stars of 1993 Jurassic Park. Sam Neill and Laura Dern return as Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler, both last seen in 2001 Jurassic Park 3, with the return of Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm in greater capacity this time after his cameo in 2018 Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

It certainly means a lot to fans when we finally get a glimpse of the trio together, but it was especially emotional for Steven Spielberg when he first saw it. Neill, Dern and Goldblum return to the set. Director Colin Trevorrow revealed to Empire that he showed Jurassic Park filmmaker a photo of the trio at work Dominate, and Spielberg were “very emotional” to see their old friends and colleagues reunited.

“The moment everyone first showed up together, it was all packed into a Jeep,” Trevorrow teased. “And I took a picture of it and sent it to Steven [Spielberg]. He was very emotional. I don’t think even he was prepared for how touching it was to see all the characters he loves, and the people he loves, look amazing and go on adventures together.” .

Thanks to Trevorrow’s tease, we now know what to expect when Alan, Ellie, and Ian first meet Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire Dearing. The fact that it will take place in a jeep has to do with the famous scene from the ’93 movie, in which three people make their way through the park for the first time in a jeep. Will Dr. Malcolm give his big speech on chaos theory again?

The good news is that Neill, Dern, and Goldblum won’t just play honored guest roles in Dominate, as Trevorrow promised the Empire that “legacy characters” [play] a role as big as our modern characters” in season three – or is it season six? The filmmaker who will be back to finish the trilogy he started with 2015 Jurassic World after JA Bayona led Fallen Kingdom, said he wanted to “make sure every character gets the honor they need.”

Jurassic World: Dominion hits theaters on June 10, 2022. If you haven’t seen it yet, Jurassic World: Camp Creta season four debuted on Netflix earlier this month.
