Stephen King To Read An Exclusive Scene From Upcoming Novel ‘Billy Summers’ – CBS DC
Legendary author Stephen King is set to host a reading session from his highly anticipated new novel, Billy Summers, above July 27, 2021, at 7pm on YouTube. This worldwide event, featuring King narrating a previously unreleased selection, will give fans a preview of the book before it is published on August 3 by Scribner Books (a company of Scribner Books). Simon & Schuster / ViacomCBS).
Heralded as one of King’s most complex and intriguing characters, Billy Summers is an assassin with a strict code of ethics: He only takes on missions after he assures himself that the target is the bad guy. Now ready for retirement, the Iraq veteran and sniper decided to leave the business after one last job. That’s easier said than done, however, and unexpected complications leave Billy confronted with ghosts from his past.
Billy Summers described by the publisher as “part travel novel, part war story, part love letter to small town America and its people.”
Stephen King is the author of more than 60 books, all of which are bestsellers worldwide. His recent work includes If It Bleeds, The Institute, Elevation, The Outsider, Sleeping Beauties (co-written with son Owen King), and the Bill Hodges: End of Watch, Finders Keepers and Mr. Mercedes (an Edgar Award winner for Best Novel). His novel 11/22/63 was named the top 10 book of 2011 by The New York Times Book Review and won the Los Angeles Times Mystery/Horror Book Award. His epics The Dark Tower, It, Pet Sematary and Doctor Sleep are the basis for major motion pictures, with It currently the highest-grossing horror film of all time.
