The big strategy games are in relatively short supply, that’s why Stellaris Such an important title. Even better, Paradox’s 4X game is one of the very few available on modern home consoles. This is also true for Stellaris 2? Is a sequel really in development and will it release for Switch in addition to Xbox and PlayStation?

What is the Stellaris 2 release date?

Paradox Development Studio has yet to confirm Stellaris 2, so no release date has been set. In fact, there is no confirmation that Stellaris will receive a numbered sequel. Assuming that happens, we can expect to learn more about the launch date once the game is announced.

For now, it looks like the Paradox team is still focusing on the original game. At last, took almost three years for Stellaris to move from PC to home console, hitting PS4 and Xbox One in early 2019. The Series X/S version only launched last March.

That time isn’t just for transfers, either. The group released some DLC packs and expansions, including last year’s Nemesis expansion. Development is ongoing, and fans can see the latest details on the official forums of Stellaris.

Could Stellaris 2 come to PlayStation, Xbox or Switch?

Given that Stellaris has finally landed on consoles, a PlayStation 4, PS5, or Xbox Series X/S release would make sense. Of course, it could be a matter of time, as it took a long time to release console ports before.

Admittedly, a Nintendo Switch release for Stellaris 2 is highly unlikely. Stellaris is not available on the Switch, and it is doubtful that Nintendo’s handheld can run it properly. And, again, Stellaris 2 is yet to be confirmed, so who knows if we’ll be playing the Switch by the time it might release.

Stellaris 2 doesn’t have a release date or any known platform, as the game itself has yet to be announced. Until we have other information, the team at Paradox Development Studio will continue its ongoing work on the already existing Stellaris, which is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Series X/S.
