Although it has been around for several years, Stardew Valley still has not lost its appeal as a lovely farming simulator. However, this game is not just about planting trees and animal care – it is also about building a new life in a new town. Part of that is getting to know the villagers and becoming part of the community… and maybe even getting married and starting a family in Pelican Town.
There are twelve candidates – six bachelors and six bachelors – that the player can choose for romance and potentially marriage. Each game is unique and will appeal to different players. Romaning each individual requires taking into account the preferences and personalities of each NPC, but the overall process of building a relationship and getting married within Stardew Valley remain the same.
To win a potential spouse, players have to strengthen their relationship by talking to them often, giving gifts, doing quests, etc. many ways to raise one’s heart level with a character, but the easiest and fastest is through gifts. Click on a character in the Social tab (tab with hearts) on the game’s menu to see their gift preferences. Besides, Check out this guide for suggestions on the best gifts in the game.
Players can give NPCs up to two gifts per week, along with an additional gift on their birthday, which can be found on the calendar outside Pierre’s shop. 8x birthday gifts count for regular friendship points, so choose these carefully!
Start a relationship
When the player reaches eight hearts with at least one bachelor or bachelor, they will receive a letter from Pierre. He will note that the player seems to be growing close to some of the townspeople, and comments that giving flowers is a local tradition to show romantic interest. At that point, the player will be able to buy a Bouquet from Pierre’s shop for 600g.
Above give a bouquet of flowers to a married person, if they have a crush on the player, they will react with amused surprise and claim that they feel the same way. At this point, the last two gray hearts in their social gauge will open and the player can build their relationship to ten hearts. In the social menu, that character will also be listed as the player’s “boyfriend” or “girlfriend”.
Before getting married, the player can have as many boyfriends and/or girlfriends as they like (although dating all bachelors or all bachelorettes can immediately lead to a cutscene that calls the player out). However, once the player is married, giving a bouquet of flowers to another NPC will upset their spouse.
Proposal & Wedding
On rainy days, an NPC named Old Mariner will appear on the east side of the Beach. If the player reaches ten hearts with one of the bachelors or bachelors and has farm upgrade at least once, he will offer to sell them a Mermaid pendant. In the local Stardew Valley tradition, this necklace is like an engagement ring: give it to your loved one as a marriage proposal. The player can buy it for 5,000 Gold.
To propose, the player must have 10 hearts with their boyfriend or girlfriend, then give the Mermaid Pendant as they would any other gift. Similar to a flower bouquet, the receiver will react with joy and agree to marry the player. Three days after the proposal, as soon as the player wakes up, a cutscene will show the marriage ceremony in the town square. The player and their new spouse will then appear on the farm porch at 6 a.m., ready to begin the first day of their lives.
Twitch overturns Thursday’s ban on popular streamer Amouranth, allowing her to return to the streaming platform in just three days.
