Well, Star Wars fans, it took less than 40 years to give an official, official answer, but here we are. Better late than never?

Disney has finally released the first episode of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni Books by Boba Fett this morning and instead of starting at a slow pace, the showrunners decided to take the rolling ball into Boba’s solo adventure with a bang. Never say this couple has no idea what the fans of the universe set in a distant, distant galaxy want, as even before the title card, episode 1 pulled back the curtain on how Fett survived fateful encounter with Sarlacc pit.

After falling to his apparent death at the hands of the temporarily blinded Han Solo in Return of the Jedi, Fett, barely alive, awakens in Sarlacc’s belly. Using the flamethrower built into his armor, the bounty hunter manages to give his captor a nasty burp and get rid of its stomach.

Upon reaching the surface of the hospitable Tatooine dunes, Boba again loses consciousness and is later stripped of his armor by a band of wandering Jawas. The Tusken Raiders eventually discovered the warrior was still alive and took him prisoner, leading straight into the events of the show.
