When it comes to bathing, I’m a bath girl. They relax, they rejuvenate, and if I can cleanse myself while lying down, why should I stand in the shower? Once a childhood chore, bathing has become my number one self-care ritual. But as a Brooklyn renter, I’m confined to my apartment’s small tub, and I don’t have room in my budget for the fancy soaps or soaking treatments that the spa industry sells dearly.

To improve my at-home bathing experience without breaking the bank, I tried Spongellé Private Reserve Spongettes. These little, round sponges come pre-soaked in body wash, and at just $12 each sponge costs less than a bottle of Bath and Body Works body wash. If you run the sponge under the tap for a few seconds, the foam will start to run out. But this is not a one-trick pony. Spongellé Private Reserve Spongettes poured enough shower gel into the sponge to last more than 5 washes. Now I can do my spa bath ritual at home every weekday, starting the second after I turn off my Slack notifications.

Created by perfumer Elaine Binder, each Spongelé fragrance is carefully crafted from a blend of genuine, natural floral and herbal fragrances. The sponges are also enriched with botanical essences and extracts that soothe and nourish the skin. The extracts derived from yuzu, edelweiss and vetiver root keep the skin healthy and radiant, while the body and mind relax in the lush scent of the perfumes. Private Reserve fragrances include Morning Bloom, Peony Flower, Black Orchid and Blackberry. My personal favorite is Black Orchid, a blend of floral orchids with slightly mysterious spice notes.

The sponges are vegan and cruelty-free (which means no sea sponges have been harmed), as are all the ingredients used to make the detergents and perfumes. Each sponge has a slightly rougher texture than a traditional sponge, giving you a good scrub. The extracts and texture of the sponge work together to exfoliate skin, while the moisturizing and moisturizing ingredients in the wash solution soothe skin. Just a few days after I started using spongellé sponges, I noticed more radiant, clearer, and smoother skin all over.

When my boyfriend saw how much I was enjoying my at-home spa baths, he started wondering if there was a spongellé product for him. Also, I told him he had to stop using my sponges during his showers because yes, I’ve noticed. Enter the Spongellé Men’s Homme Collection: masculine scents like Brave (fresh, juicy citrus served al fresco), Gallant (an energizing morning cocktail with a hint of lemon), and Bold (musky, woody bubbles of clean air), blended with the same vegan and cruelty-free Flavors are enriched. free sponge and mop like the Private Reserve Collection.
