Splitgate, the Halo– beautiful shooter with the love of the portal, released in beta late last year. The beta started running and was so popular people can’t even play it. When everyone is trying to dive in Splitgate fever, its servers are locked and queues have been deployed. Long story short, people can not enough. The developer, 1047 Games, has finally eased the server stress, and grossed $100 million USD funding to develop the game and promote its future. Next week, we’ll see the fruits of that cash and labor, like Splitgate beta Season 1 is launching next week with new modes, one map, and a custom map generator.
The Season 1 update adds a lot of new content to the shooter. According to the announcement, the map of the former’s Destruction Zone is being reshaped. Sadly, we don’t know what the changes will look like, but the team promises the arena will be built to “exemplary standards”. There will also be new designs for items and weapons, new characters, banners, sprays, etc. The two new modes are Evolution and One Flag CTF. Hotel will appear as a new map, and it’s designed for “3v3 modes like Takedown, Showdown, and the new Evolution mode.”
Create and share new maps
You can imagine your own map after Splitgate Part 1 is out. It will come with a custom map generator, a tool that 1047 designed for creative members of the gaming community. You can even bring a friend in the making of the map, as it supports co-creation. A custom map generator that allows you to place building blocks, gate walls, and more. Plus, the team plans to expand the tool over time.
“Our custom map creator will continue to grow with the rest of the game,” Ian Proulx, CEO of 1047 Games, said in a press release. “We view the map generator as a community-driven evolution tool – it’s a powerful feature for fans to play with the first day of our new season, and we’d really love to hear feedback from the community about the types of features and tools they want. ”
