“Spider-Man: No Way Home” Villains Appear at Comic Con XP to Discuss Their Return

Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx appeared at Comic Con Experience this weekend to discuss the return of Spidey’s arch-enemies The Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Electro. The actors, all of whom died in one form or another at the conclusion of their respective Sony franchises, will all feature in the new MCU film, connecting the other series for the first time. together.

According to Dafoe, “You know, when I listened to it, I thought, ‘Well, that’s pretty cool, I hit pretty well in the first movie,’ but I thought, ‘Okay, they can find it. Find a way to get me back’. I like the idea that I’m returning something the same but different. it’s a throwback to what I’ve done before with that kind of history, but there’s a twist to it, and that intrigued me. ”

Molina joked that “For me, it’s just about the money.” He continued seriously, adding, “Strangely, the day before, Willem and I were confused about how [it’s been] 20 years since his first Green Goblin and 17 years since I first played Doc Ock, and these are the longest choices a studio has ever made on actors. You know, it’s like we’ve been waiting, but the material, the pitch, is fantastic. Honestly, when the idea was first proposed, my first thought was, ‘Come on, I’m 17. I have a chin; I have wrinkles. What are they going to do?’ Then, of course, I suddenly realized, wait a minute, they’ve got the technology, this won’t be a problem. But it’s nice to go back to something that is, as you know, very familiar but at the same time completely new. You know, technology has evolved phenomenally since the last few decades, and so it’s still very exciting. ”

Dafoe and Molina also discuss upgrades in technology that, among other things, actually make gearing much easier, with Dafoe contrasting his original skin, which lasted over eight hours , with scanning technology much easier to use today.
