Speculation that ‘Chainsaw Man’ could be released next year has caught the attention of fans

You may have heard that Chainsaw Man will be released next year. Online news is that the highly anticipated anime series being produced at Studio MAPPA will be released next year. After a year hiatus, Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga will continue to make a second part.

Both are reasonable timeframes for releases, but rumors have spread as if official word has been given, in part due to the hype for the series. Above MyAnimeList, Chainsaw Man is the 4th top upcoming anime (after Attack on Titan, The Rising of the Shield Hero and Demon Slayer). Besides, Chainsaw Man’s The physical release has consistently made NYT . best seller list. And at Anime NYC, Chainsaw Man Undoubtedly the most popular cosplay on the catwalk.

All the new hype goes back to an unofficial news account that updates Weekly Shonen Jump. “Both Chainsaw Man Season 2 and the Chainsaw Man anime adaptation are scheduled for release in 2022,” @WSJ_manga shared in a tweet about the rounds.

While the tweet received more than 4,000 retweets and 20,000 likes, the account did not share any source of the information. However, manga and anime fans on Twitter have been running after the news, posting all sorts of exclamations.

Other fan-run news accounts ran with the alleged release date.

It’s not unreasonable to expect the manga to return after a year-long hiatus, and the anime has had a trailer to run with it, but there’s been no official announcement yet. It’s a rumor at best while we wait for an image of the news somewhere on Weekly Shonen Jump or just a post from Chainsaw Man‘NS Official Twitter account.

However, we do know that the series will be available at the annual manga and anime exhibition Jump Festa, sponsored by Shueisha (owner of Weekly Shonen Jump). Mangaka Tatsuki Fujimoto joined Viz Media’s Mangaka Mania just yesterday, sharing a timeline of how he drew the main character. Unfortunately, there are no announcements regarding the video.

WGTC contacted Chainsaw Man’s Shonen Jump’s English publisher and North American distributor, Viz Media, was reached for comment but had not received a response at the time of publication.
