Special 25th Anniversary ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Coming in 2022


Joss Whedon’s reputation may be tarnished, but that doesn’t mean his work should be shunned and derided, especially since each is a collaborative effort brought to the screen with help of many talented individuals.

One of these, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which has proven to be very successful creating many connected products such as fan comics and movies, and now BOOM! The studios are putting together a special publication to mark the show’s 25th anniversary, which is set to premiere this March.

According to a Press Release, the work will feature new stories by Jeremy Lambert, Lilah Sturges, Casey Gilly and Danny Lore. This will be the epilogue to the first three years of the company’s comic books about the character but not the end of what they had planned as a new Buffy series was created and launched recently.

“25 years later, dive into a whole new universe of stories that celebrate the extraordinary icon of a generation, Buffy Summers. Where is Buffy in the Multiverse? And what happened to the Scooby Gang? Find out in some new origin stories as well as a surprising ending to BOOM! Studios hailed in the first three years for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Fans will also discover the shocking opening sequence to a brand new manga in Buffy from [Sarah Gailey]. ”
