Sonic Fan Creates Chao Garden Mini-Game in Dreams

Many dedicated fans use Dreams to bring their favorite games to life in their own unique way, and one Sonic fan uses it to create their own Chao Garden.

Dreams is a game created by Media Molecule that gives players the power to create anything they want with the game’s tools at their disposal. Since the game was released in 2020, fans have been eager to do whatever their hearts desire and share it with fans online. Many fan games have emerged from the title, and one Sonic the Hedgehog fans used it to create Chao Garden mini game.

Chao Gardens is a mini-game Sonic Fans can enjoy between exploring levels that involve raising and caring for cute creatures called Chaos that will grow depending on the items and the attention the player gives them. . This feature is loved by many fans, but not yet in Sonic the Hedgehog proper game since Sonic Advance header for GBA. Even then, they were called the “Little Chao Garden” because they lacked the scale of the full functionality found in Sonic Adventure series.

Style-Z’s creation doesn’t just have a Chao Garden, but it’s for it. This mode is just part of a fan game made using Media Molecule’s system called “Sonic Style” which allows the player to run around a small level to perform tricks like SonicTails and Knuckles while defeating roaming robots to collect Chaos Drives to develop Chao’s skills.

While the fan game is pretty straightforward, there’s quite a bit of detail to be found in Style-Z’s work. One of the tricks Sonic can do with the right button input makes him iconic”Sonic Adventure Fans will be familiar with the pose.” There are also balloons dotted in the “Trick Attack” level resembling Sonic’s head-shaped gumball.

Although this Reddit user made a pretty unique take on the Chaos Garden feature in Dreams, they’re not the only ones trying to make a game for Chao Garden fans. These projects show that fans still want the beloved little creatures to return after so long they have been absent. Chao’s fans can only hope one day they’ll return to a game in the future, and hopefully, Upcoming Sonic Frontiers game maybe the game to do it.
