Titans may have been part of Titan Forge Games MOBA Smite for a long time, but those are the bosses, not the playable characters. That’s about to change with the introduction of Atlas into the game. You know who we’re talking about, the guy who’s usually supposed to carry the world on his back (It’s the universe.)
Today, Titan Forge published a post details the process of making Atlas work in-game while continuing to fit his mythology. In fact, it seems like Atlas’ particular lore could actually have a significant impact on the game’s lore as the question of what would happen if he decided to stop bringing the universe into play.
Of course, the post also mentioned his appearance. This includes his rock skin and cosmic hair. He’s also taller than the other gods – but not as tall as the Titan bosses because that would be ridiculous.
Play-wise, he’s a defender and focuses on crowd control, supporting allies or hindering opposition. He is designed to be double lane. He’s also unique in that when the weapon goes, he’s the first genie in the game to actually let the weapon leave his hand when he throws it. While Astrolabe is out of his hand, his attacks change to reflect that. Speaking of throwing, he can actually pick up enemy gods and throw them back, too, so there’s something new for everyone to worry about.
