Smiley Martin, Sacramento Shooting Suspect and Dandrae Martin’s Brother, Arrested

Police in Sacramento, California, on Tuesday announced the arrest of Smiley Martin, 27, in connection with a mass shooting that left six people dead and 12 others injured over the weekend.

Police said he was the brother of Dandrae Martin, a 26-year-old man who was arrested a day earlier, and was seriously injured in the incident. Not charged with murder, but Smiley Martin was charged with possession of a machine gun, while his brother faces charges of assault with a firearm and is prohibited from possession.

Police said at least three buildings and three vehicles were damaged in the incident, which occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday when bars were open at night and was involved in multiple shootings.
