Simu Liu continues to mock Shang-Chi haters after sequel is confirmed

Prior to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings release, some observers have dialed back expectations. Black Widow It’s been a bit of a letdown, the movie trailers are fine but not eye-catching, and there’s a growing sense of superhero fatigue. But Destin Daniel Cretton and Simu Liu’s mystical martial arts show ended up as the ultimate adventure and elevated action choreography in the MCU.

Since then, Liu was busy making fun of all the haters who confidently predicted that Shang-Chi would be a serious and commercial failure. When the film surpassed box office predictions and received critical acclaim, he took time online to appeal to people.

Yesterday we learned that Liu and director Daniel Destin Cretton return for the sequeland he replied in the only way that he knew:

Along with this announcement, we’ve also received confirmation that Cretton is working on a bunch of Disney Plus MCUs, although there’s no confirmation yet on whether it’s connected to the MCU. Shang-Chi or not (Awkwafina x Ben Kingsley, please cooperate).

But Shang-Chi getting the sequel wasn’t a big surprise. Kevin Feige sounded confident ahead of his release, saying:

“We definitely have a lot of ideas on where to do it [these characters] and where to put them. And just like you said, what’s more interesting than that, we know the movie is working well when it’s not just the main character that everyone asks, but also the co-stars or supporting players that everyone is talking about. ask. And in this movie in particular, that’s very encouraging because we think they’re spectacular and we think they have great potential in the future. ”

Post-credits scene in Shang-Chi appeared to tease the hero as part of an upcoming co-op adventure, and I’d love to see him meet more people in the MCU. Maybe next we can see Shang-Chi fight vampires with Blade or even test his fighting skills against similarly skilled MCU fighters like Charlie Cox’s Daredevil?
