Silent Hill Director Claims Bloober Team Is Working On Silent Hill 2 Remake

The rumor that the Bloober team is working on one Silent Hill 2 remake true, according to film director Christophe Gans.

Speaking in an interview with French Outlet MaG – Movie & Game (Thanks, ResetEra, via IGN) The director of the Silent Hill movie claimed that multiple games are in the works by multiple teams at Konami.

Gans said he works with the same Silent Hill team he worked with on the first film in the franchise, which we assume received the information.

“I know a little bit [next Silent Hill game]. I work with the Silent Team, the original creators. I work with Konami,” Gans said.

“I work with the Silent Team, the original creators of Konami, as we speak there are several games in development, there are several teams, with a great line of games, they’re going to revitalize the franchise, I think they were They’re really impressed with the success of Resident Evil remakes, which are obviously exceptional games.”

Under pressure from the outlet, Gans goes on to say in the interview that “yes,” the Bloober team is working on the Silent Hill 2 remake.

Of course, his comments still aren’t direct confirmation from Konami, so we just have to add them to the current evidence stack.

Back in February 2021, the Bloober team announced they were collaborating with a “famous gaming publisher” on an existing horror franchise, with many speculating the project is a Silent Hill game. The following month it was confirmed that the publisher was Konami. In May this year, thanks to prolific leaker Dusk Golem, images purporting to be from the Silent Hill reboot surfaced online. Konami quickly issued a DCMA which resulted in the images being taken offline.

Later in May, more rumors surfaced that the Bloober team would be developing the remake, along with news that several Silent Hill projects were in the works. As July rolled around, the Bloober team finally addressed the rumor, but neither confirmed nor denied it.

While all signs are pointing yes on the Bloober Team Silent Hill frontline until an official announcement is made, we’ll just have to dismiss it all as rumor. Perhaps Konami will unveil the next Silent Hill project during The Game Awards 2022. It would be the perfect place for a surprise announcement, after all, but who knows? It’s just wishful thinking on our part. Silent Hill Director Claims Bloober Team Is Working On Silent Hill 2 Remake
