Shows You Need To See If You Love Amazon’s Time Cycle

With only four episodes now released, the new Amazon series Wheel of time already looks like the best new fantasy movie of 2021. Based on a successful series of books by Robert Jordan, this movie transports audiences into a whole new world. The film stars Rosamund Pike as Moiraine, a powerful woman who finds 5 people and sets out with them.
Moiraine believes that one of her five companions has the power to save the world. Those who are enjoying the series so far and want to see more shows based on the series or those that belong to the epic fantasy series, fortunately, there are many options to choose from.

Carnival Row
Based on a society reminiscent of the 19th century, Carnival Row presents a world in which beings other than humans are ostracized or at least shunned. An inspector, Rycroft Philostrate, begins to investigate a murder and discovers that it is much more complicated than it initially seems.
Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne star on the show, and their complicated romance makes for another side of the gripping story. Carnival Row also creates a complex society that is not easy to live for the heroes, but colorful and fascinating for the audience to explore. The series is available to stream on Amazon like Wheel of time.

Discovery of witches
Available on HBO, Discovery of witches also works with the concept of magic, although a different concept from Wheel of time. Teresa Palmer plays Diana Bishop, a powerful, however, sorceress who avoids using her powers. But when she comes across a mysterious book in the library and meets a vampire named Matthew (Matthew Goode), magic and trouble find their way.
The series currently has two seasons and is based on a successful book series by Deborah Harkness. What makes the movie worth watching is not only the well-played, engaging characters, but also the combination of the famous (the film takes place in Oxford) and the otherworldly (the use of supernatural creatures, such as witches, vampires and others).

Emerald City
Inspired by the icon Wizard of Oz, Emerald City shows what happens when an adult woman arrives in Oz very differently than the reader knows. Emerald City is a hidden gem that was destroyed after just one season.
It won’t be to everyone’s taste but it has a strangely poetic atmosphere, a beauty that combines violence and danger. The actors (such as Joely Richardson and Vincent D’Onofrio) are solid and the world in which the story takes place again is a joy to explore. In addition, the series only has ten episodes, so it can be finished quickly.

Game of Thrones
The book was inspired by Game of Thrones most likely needs very little introduction as it is one of the most successful TV series of all time. With eight seasons in the works, it will transport audiences into the land of Westeros, where many noble clans are fighting for the throne…and survival.
George RR Martin, author of A Song of Ice and Fire, doesn’t disappoint its heroes, and neither does the show. Although not everyone was happy with how the finale went, Game of Thrones still offers hours of engaging story that allows people to forget about the world around them and wish their favorite heroes survived (spoiler alert – they usually don’t). The series is available to stream on HBO and a spin-off series has been made.
3
The Nevers
While this toy show takes the idea of superpowers, it presents them in a new, refreshing light – often more like a curse than a blessing. Available on HBO, The Nevers creating a world in which women often have special powers and face dangers from many sides.
The series has a historical feel because it takes place in the 19th century and works with elaborate costumes, like Wheel of time. Its overall impact is different but what the two shows have in common is the rich imagination with which they create its world and the characters that live in it.

Shadows and bones
Unlike Wheel of time, Netflix series Balls and bones is a fantasy of young people. However, it also works with the idea of magic and that one special person can save everyone…… or destroy them.
The first season introduces the complex world, the magic system as well as the characters moving smoothly between hero and villain. Nothing is clear in Balls and bones. Wheel of time also operates with a sort of moral ambiguity regarding its characters, keeping audiences interested and often surprising them.

The Witcher
Like Wheel of time, Netflix series The Witcher To be Based on a popular fantasy book series. Written by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher tells the complex story of three main characters – princess Ciri, witch Geralt and witch Yennefer. The first season mainly shows the characters finding their way together and building their lives in a world where nothing is certain, least of all survival.
It’s as complicated as Wheel of time and audiences don’t know what to expect next and what awaits the characters. Second season of The Witcher Coming out in December and as such, it is one of the most anticipated shows on Netflix at the moment.
