Sherri Shepherd conducts emergency surgery, Miss Wendy shows host duties

Sherri Shepherd is recovering after undergoing emergency surgery this weekend due to appendicitis. The 57-year-old TV personality is set to guest host ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ today (December 13) and for the rest of the week. Actor Michael Rappaport replaced Shepherd on Monday and addressed the situation at the beginning of the show.

“So Sherri is supposed to be the host of today’s show. Unfortunately, she suffered from appendicitis. She’s fine. She is fine. She had to go to the hospital last night for emergency surgery. Today she feels fine and she is rested. Get well soon, Sherri. Everyone loves you!”

Shepherd’s publisher released a statement confirming the comedian had undergone ’emergency surgery’ and ‘the procedure was successful’.

“Due to appendicitis, Sherri Shepherd underwent an emergency surgery yesterday. The procedure was successful, and Miss Shepherd is fine and resting. She is absolutely devastated that she won’t be able to receive guests The Wendy Williams Show but she is following her doctor’s orders and is expected to make a full recovery. Thank you all for understanding and respecting her privacy.”

Sherri Shepherd then brought to Instagram and share a screenshot of a Limit line article in which her public broadcaster issued a statement explaining her absence. She also wrote a caption mentioning the situation and thanking her Michael Rappaport for stepping in for her. Shepherd wrote,

“If you watched @WendyWilliams today, you saw the news about my emergency surgery. Thanks to @MichaelRapaport for the last minute support! And while I’m mad, I haven’t met WWE’s Naomi aka @trinity_fatu in person, Jeffrey did! ”

She added,

“I will share more later….”

Some famous people include, Leah Remini, Jerry Springer, Bill Bellamy and Michael Rapaport entered Wendy Williams is a longtime TV presenter has been dealing with her own health problems. Back in November, Williams updated fans on her current condition.

“As everyone knows, my health used to be a hot topic. I’m making progress but it was just one of those things that took longer than we expected. I am a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctor and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree that I am ready. –I have heard your prayers and comments and feel all the love! You are everything to me. I love spending my mornings with all of you and I’m doing everything I can to get back to work, but for now Wendy has to focus on Wendy. ”
