Shenhe wards off her enemies in the latest Genshin Impact trailer

Exorcism has never looked this style before. Upcoming playable characters for The Genshin effect, Shenhe, just received a brand new character demo that showcases many of her new abilities. She also has a super healthy relationship with her co-worker, Chongyun, and the two of them exorcise together. Okay, really, they just defeated some basic mobs in the underworld. But it’s still pretty cool to watch.

Shenhe is a disciple of the Cloud Keeper and a powerful member of an exorcist clan. Living with adepti, Shenhe has a strong will and a great talent for her adepti art and craft. There’s a lot of mystery surrounding her character, and in a little fun, she’s also Chongyun’s aunt. At the end of the trailer, Chongyun seems to recognize Shenhe and calls her “his aunt”. Apparently exorcism is a family affair.

New cryo support

Shenhe shows off the many new abilities she will bring The Genshin effect, and her pairing with Chongyun also highlights the role she will take on in the game. Cryo characters are currently extremely popular in the game’s meta, so it makes sense for miHoYo to monetize meta-chasers. Shenhe is a unique character that supports other Cryo characters. That limits her role a bit, as she’s really only useful to other Cryo characters. In other words, if you’re not destined for the element of ice, perhaps Shenhe won’t be to your taste.

Shenhe will release in Genshin Impact Version 2.4, is set to release tomorrow, January 5. She will appear in a dual banner alongside Xiao, who is being rerun. In addition to these two, playable characters Zhongli and Ganyu are also being rerun. I can hear crying in my wallet, but alas.
