Number 38 in the world and number 4 in the US Frances Tiafoe recently talked about the influence of the Williams sisters, especially Serena Williams was on him. Tiafoe, 23, turned Pro in 2015 and has slowly settled into the League and is often involved in some gritty bouts across surfaces showing his versatility from time to time.

“She is a GOAT (The Greatest of All Time). And for decades! She is so much more than she has achieved in tennis. I grew up in a neighborhood where everyone around me knew Serena Williams. When I go back there and say I play tennis, the first thing I get is: “Ah! Like the Williams sisters.”

“The other athletes have great respect for them. When I go to the US Open games, I remember the boxes on the field where they played were filled with Hollywood stars. I told myself I wanted to be like them: not only have a great career in tennis, but rise above my sport.” Tiafoe said as reported by Welovetennis.fr.

Frances has been one of the busiest players on the Tour this season as he played a total of 68 games, winning 41 and losing 27. He has a 19-13 record on outdoor hard courts, a 4-7 record on the field. clay, a 9-4 record on indoor hard play and a 9-3 record on grass.

Frances also played the longest 3-set match of the season when he and Andy Murray fought for 3 hours 45 minutes in round 1 of European Open 2021 at Antwerp, where Murray eventually won the match 7-6 (2), 6-7 (7), 7-6 (8). His best results at the Grand Slams were in US Open 2021 where he made it to the 4th round for the second year in a row.
