Tennis Queen of India, Sania Mirza has joined the Tennis Premier League as part of the franchise, Bengaluru Spartans. She joins the teams as the brand ambassador of Sparta. Tennis Premier League will kick off in Mumbai from December 13.

This is the third edition of the Tennis Premier League, with eight teams participating in the tournament. The event will feature the likes of Yuki Bhambri, Purav Raja and Ramkumar Ramanathan. In addition, Sania Mirza, Leander Paes and Goran Ivanisevic will also be present at the event.

Sania Mirza is happy to be associated with the tournament with a unique scoring system. “I am delighted to be associated with Tennis Premier League and my Spaniards in Bengaluru have my full support and guidance. What really drew me to this tournament was its unique 20-point format and what’s interesting is that they made tennis a team sport. Sania Mirza is undoubtedly one of the greatest tennis players India has ever produced. She won six Double Grandslam titles during her peak career. Therefore, she believes that the cooperation of Tennis Premier League is her way of giving it back to the tennis community to promote youth.

“Tennis has given me everything. I think TPL is a great opportunity for me to give back to the sport and all the talented players of our country. We have some great upcoming talent in our country and it’s great that TPL is creating a platform for these players to rub against local and international pro players,” added Sania. .

Meanwhile, tournament co-founder Kunal Thakkur was also delighted to see Sania Mirza participating in the event. He believes her presence will energize young people who can be inspired to perform better.
