Serena Williams misses Australian Open; Novak Djokovic prepares to compete
Djokovic, the world’s No. 1 player, will participate in the first Grand Slam event of the year, The organizers announced. A nine-time Australian Open champion, Djokovic is tied with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer with 20 Grand Slam singles titles in his career. Nadal was also allowed to participate in the tournament, but Federer won’t play in Melbourne as he continues to recover from knee surgery.
