Sentinels survive a close call against FURIA

Monday of the Valorant Champions is near and the North American Sentinels have survived the scare with impressive displays from Brazilian team FURIA. It was the opening match for Group B and fans expected the Sentinels to beat FURIA but it was far from what the reality predicted. Both teams had to go through a series of three formations and Valorant fans were left with what was arguably the most exciting game to date at the Valorant Champions.

Day 2 recap of Valorant Champions: Sentinels vs FURIA (Sentinels won 2-1)

Map 1 – Going up (Sentinels won 13-9)

The match got off to a explosive start with FURIA leading 5-0 leaving the Sentinels fans in awe. The Sentinels controlled the aggressive play of their Brazilian opponent and finished the first half with a score of 6-6. Tyson “TenZ” Ngo helped the Sentinels recover their health after the first rounds and the North American team finished the game with a score of 13-9.

Map 2 – Breeze (FURIA won 13-10)

FURIA turned up the heat and beat the Sentinels 13-10 in the second game of the series. The Brazilian team has shown promise in all the events in the region and this is the first time they have proven themselves in front of such a large audience on the international stage. FURIA could be one of those dormant teams that could become a force to be reckoned with if they keep their form from last night in future matches.

Map 3 – Haven (Sentinels won 13-9)

It ran into the third and final game of the night with the Sentinels’ TenZ completing the streak for a total of 65 lives across three maps. The Sentinels may have won last night’s game but it was FURIA who stole the show with its impressive performance.
