SEIU Local 73 reaches agreement with Cook County to end 18-day strike

CHICAGO (WLS) — A strike by hundreds of Cook dinner County staff is over because the SEIU Native 73 stated it has reached a tentative settlement to return to work Tuesday morning.

Tuesday would have been the nineteenth day of a strike for about 2,500 Cook dinner County staff. The group is made up of principally administrative workers and custodians in addition to lab technicians and social employees

A four-year tentative contract contains an 8.5% p.c pay enhance over that point, however employees can pay extra for well being care premiums. Their earlier contract expired in December.

The union stated the 18-day strike is the longest in its historical past.
