FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Police are searching for the occupants of a stolen automobile and a second automobile that have been working so erratically, they induced a deadly crash on the Southern State Parkway in West Babylon on Monday.
A 75-year-old Holbrook grandfather misplaced his life. Police stated the individuals within the stolen automobile bought away within the second automobile.
CBS2’s Carolyn Gusoff spoke with the sufferer’s heartbroken household.
It was a devastating sight on the Southern State for a mom and daughter who occurred to be driving by.
“She says, ‘What’s daddy’s license plate quantity?’ And he or she begins calling out the letter one after the opposite, and she or he says, ‘Oh my God, that’s daddy,’” stated Carol Riggs, the sufferer’s spouse.
“Horrendous. I used to be in a state of shock, and my daddy, he died immediately,” Samantha Guglieri stated.
“I used to be leaving my husband on the highway and there was nothing I may do,” Carol added.

“They’d no respect for human life and he didn’t need to die like this,” Carol Riggs stated.
State police say witnesses noticed the 2 individuals within the stolen Vary Rover flee in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.
“This was a mindless tragedy. The suspects that we’re searching for drove recklessly, inflicting the dying of Mr. Riggs,” State Police Capt. Christopher Casale stated.
The household is pleading for witnesses to come back ahead to assist police make arrests.
The stolen automobile was taken from an East Backyard Metropolis driveway on July 5, police stated.
