WePlay Esports has announced the third season of the WePlay Academy League (WAL) scheduled to take place from 3rd January to 13order February 2022. Although the total prize pool remains unchanged at $100,000 USD, the stake is higher than before because 10 CS:GO Academy teams will compete in this tournament.

The entire tournament has been split into three phases with the Playoffs taking place over LAN at the WePlay Esports Arena in Kyiv, Ukraine. The contest will be streamed live on Twitch, YouTube and their own Smart TV app in both English and Russian.

WePlay Academy League Season 3: Full Details

Building on the success of the first two seasons that took place earlier this year, WePlay Esports has announced the first Academy CS:GO tournament for next year – WePlay Academy League Season 3.

WAL Season 3 – Schedule

The tournament is divided into three phases starting on 3rd January and ends on the 13thorder February 2002,

  • : 3rd up to 12order January 2022 (tiebreaker can be held on 13 .)order January)

  • : 14order up to 16order January 2022

  • : 11order up to 13order February 2022

WAL Part 3 – Format

The group stage of the tournament will begin with two groups of doubles round robin, with the top team in each group going directly to the knockout round. The remaining teams will advance to the Gauntlet Round, where they will fight further to qualify for the Knockout Qualifier.

With 10 teams instead of 8 this time, both the Qualifiers and the Qualifiers are likely to follow a different format from last season. The first two stages of the tournament will take place online while the Online Qualifier will be held in a LAN environment at the WePlay Esports Arena in Kyiv, Ukraine.

WAL season 3 – Participating teams

Unlike the previous two seasons of the tournament where a total of eight CS:GO Acamdey teams participated, this time around 10 teams will be competing. They were divided into two groups of five teams each as follows,

  • NAVI Junior

  • Young Ninjas

  • Fnatic Rising

  • BIG. OMEN . Academy

  • Talent Astralis

  • VP.Prodigy

  • mouz NXT

  • FURIA Academy

  • Spirit Academy

  • Eternal Fire Academy

Each participating team must consist of at least four members between the ages of 16 and 21, each team is allowed to have one person over the age of 21.

WAL Season 3 – Prize Pool

The tournament’s total prize pool remained unchanged for the third season, consisting of $100,000 divided between the online and LAN stages.

WAL Part 3 – Live TV

The tournament will be streamed live on Twitch, YouTubeand their Smart TV app in both Russian and English. However, more languages ​​and channels can be added to this list with WePlay Esports stating that a full list of channels in other languages ​​will be announced soon.
