Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh Tickled Each Other To Build Trust Prior To Filming
Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh spent a lot of time together while working on Marvel’s latest big-budget film, Black Widow. To successfully shoot a $200 million blockbuster, there needs to be a lot of trust between the actors and everyone involved on the set.
Many organizations rely on trust-building exercises to overcome stress before starting team projects, and Marvel does the same.
As funny as it sounds, Johansson and Pugh work together to overcome the awkwardness between them when they first meet.

When the two actors first met, there was a bit of apprehension on both ends. Johansson recently admitted The glamor that she actually felt threatened by Pugh when the two first connected because Black Widow.
“I’m a little nervous because I’m a bit eccentric… I’m actually a bit scared, because you’re being very grounded and being in yourself and being there to do the work and everything. And I was like, ‘Oh,’ she recalls.

Although Johansson is a little nervous about meeting Pugh on his own terms, Pugh is also thinking about connecting with the Oscar-nominated superstar.
“Everybody said, ‘Okay, are you ready to go see Scarlett?’ and I said, ‘Yes. Oh no, there’s too much pressure. And what shall I say? ‘” Pugh said.
Thankfully, things turned out for the best after the two did a unique trust-building exercise.
“And then we ended up tickling each other in a trusting exercise, and yes, everything was fine,” Pugh said.
Their relationship developed while filming the action scenes of ‘Black Widow’ together.
Once they got over the initial awkwardness, Johansson and Pugh were able to focus on Black Widow. Their bond grows stronger as they work through the film’s tense action sequences, which often require them to fight.
Johansson told Access: “On the first day, we crashed into each other in the door frame and we were choking. “And it was a fun way to go jogging with another actor. Yeah, we were physically close from a very early age. It really becomes the perfect icebreaker.”

Now that they’ve finished filming, the two talented actors can reflect on all they’ve learned about each other during their time together.
“I was really impressed by how curious Florence was about herself and others,” Johansson told Glamor. “How confident she is, yet so humble, and accepting of her vulnerability. And allowed to show her her soft bottom and all that. “
“She always came very happy and made a small gesture. … All these wonderful, silly things will last for days,” Pugh replied. “I also think one thing that I miss when I look and feel really impressed and excited when I’m in the room is her ability to stop and rethink things.”
