As the leader of the resistance army that opposes the Vision Hunt Decree, Sangonomiya Kokomi is clearly a powerful and respectable woman in Genshin Impact. She has hydrovision, a catalyst, and a signature smooth demeanor in combat.
So it’s fitting that Kokomi’s primary use in combat is healing power. With her talents, she is able to bring immense healing to her team, making her a great addition to a party. However, she can also dish out some pretty decent damage if built right, especially after using her burst. Anyone who has managed to add Kokomi to their roster will do well to hone their talents and climb them. Here’s everything you need to do both.

Like everyone else Genshin Impact Character requires Kokomi over 8 million EXP to reach the max level of 90. This is how much EXP and Mora is needed between each level of advancement:

Sangonomiya Kokomi ascension items
Kokomi is one of the few Hydro characters in Genshin Impactwhich means they used Varunada lazurite gems for their ascension. Also, she needs a few drops of the ghosts found around Inazuma who dew of rejection from the Hydro Hypostasis and a local specialty of Watatsumi Island, Sango beads.

Gems – Where to find Varunada Lazurite
Varunada Lazurite is a special elemental stone used by all Hydro characters. It can be obtained by completing daily quests, trading seals at the souvenir shops in Liyue and Mondstadt, or by other means. However, the best way to snag something is by beating the bosses and weekly challenges that can drop gems.
The following bosses and weekly challenges can reward Varunada Lazurite:
- Ashdaha
- Childe/Tartaglia
- Dvalin/Storm Terror
- hydro hypostasis
- Rhodeia of Loch
- Primo Geovishap

Enemy Drop – Where to find Specter Drops
The enemies known as Specters can be found around Inazuma, including in Enkanomiya. A handful are also found scattered throughout Sumeru. At higher levels, they drop better materials that Kokomi needs for her ascension to correspondingly higher levels.
Here’s a breakdown of which Specters drop which materials:
- Each stage: Spectral Husk
- Level 40+: Spectral Heart
- Level 60+: Spectral Core
Ghosts are usually found in abundance Seirai Island and Watatsumi Island.
Boss Drop – How to get Dew of Rejection
It’s almost possible to farm all of Kokomi’s Ascension Materials without ever leaving Watatsumi Island. Ghosts abound here, Sango pearls abound only found here and under the island in Enkanomiya, and the boss that drops Dew of Repudiation, the Hydro Hypostasis, also calls Watatsumi home.
That hydro hypostasis is located underground, just around the northeast corner of the island in the sub-area known as Suigetsu pool. Find a small hole with a waterfall and drop down. In this large pool under the island, the Hydro Hypostasis can be found and defeated.
Local Specialty – Where to Find Sango Beads
Sango beads are, as the name suggests, found around the Sangonomiya Shrine on Watatsumi Island. These pearls grow in small pink plants near water and are found in abundance Suigetsu Pool, on the lower levels of Watatsumi below the Sangonomiya Shrineand in enkanomiya.
There are also two NPCs that sell Sango Beads: Babak in Sumeru’s Port Ormos, and Yamashiro Kenta, who opens a shop in Ritou after the player completes the second chapter of Raiden Shogun’s story quest, Transient Dreams. Both offer five at a time, which are replenished every three days. Each pearl costs 1,000 mora.
Sangonomiya Kokomi talent materials
Kokomi uses the transience Set of talent books to improve their three talents. The player also needs to farm more Specter drops to upgrade the Divine Priestess talents.

Talent Books – Impermanence
That transience Series is one of the talent books in the Inazuman series. They can be obtained by deleting the Violet Court Domain Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Trounce Materials and Crowns of Insight
Talents need a crown of insight to reach level 10, which means a character needs three of them in total. They can be obtained from special events or as rewards for offerings to Sacred Sakura in Inazuma, the Tree of Dreams in Sumeru, or the Frostbearing Tree on Dragonback.
The special trounce material that Kokomi’s talents require is this Hellfire Butterfly. These can be obtained by defeating them La Signora at their weekly boss fight, Narukami Island: Tenshukaku.
