San Francisco’s Tenderloin Gets Easter Sunday Meals With A Special Drag Show

“I didn’t expect this,” said Danilo Fuentes while enjoying his meal. “This is my first- and they say they have it every year and hopefully we have it next year too. It was amazing, it was a great lunch,” Fuentes said. “The entertainment was fantastic,” he added.
Volunteers like Fred Green will help bring this event to life. He has been helping for 13 years and says he understands the struggle.
“We just want people to feel comfortable and safe, life on the street is tough. And I’m homeless myself so there’s nothing they can tell me about it,” Green said. speak.

And young Azzurri Dillmann proved that children can help, too; this is her third year volunteering. “My favorite part today was putting candy in the eggs,” she said, adding that it makes her so happy to know she’s helping other kids.
8-year-old Chris Matias is delighted to have the opportunity to experience a holiday meal with the whole family. “It means a lot because my dad works a lot,” he said. “So we don’t really spend that time with him, but it’s Sunday now and we can be with him.”
And when asked if he enjoyed the meal, he answered very clearly: “Absolutely,” he said. “I don’t like it. I love it.”
