What to know

The San Diego State Aztecs are winning 3-1 against the Utah State Aggies since October 2015, and they will have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. San Diego State and Wyoming will go head to head in the Mountain West battle at 3 p.m. ET at Dignity Health Sports Park. The Aztecs had a defense that only allowed 17.25 points per game, so the Aggies offense would be cut.

San Diego State was able to take a solid win over the Boise State Broncos on Friday, with a 27-16 win. San Diego State QB Jordon Brookshire was wearing it when he passed a TD and 192 yards in 15 attempts in addition to plunging into a TD and 46 yards.

The San Diego State defense was also present, as it edged past Boise State’s offensive line to snatch QB four times for a total of 27 yards. Led by DL Jonah Tavai and his three sacks. Tavai currently has 5.5 sacks across 12 games.

Meanwhile, the Aggies ran around New Mexico Lobos on Friday, and the extra distance (440 yards versus 186 yards) paid off. Wyoming is the clear winner with a 35-10 margin over New Mexico. The squad ran away with 28 points in the first half and mostly just sat above the men in the second half to take the win. QB Logan Bonner had a stellar game for Wyoming as he passed five TDs and 312 yards in 22 tries. Bonner’s 76-yard touch unleashes WR Derek Wright in the second quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the afternoon.

San Diego State is currently 11-1 while the Aggies sit at 9-3. Aztecs are leading 9-1 after winning this season, beating Utah State 6-2.
