Taylor, Texas, has won the right to host the South Korean giant’s latest semiconductor plant, the company said Tuesday local time. Locations in Phoenix and upstate New York are also vying to host the new plant. Phoenix has recently enjoyed an economic win of its own, overtaking Oregon as the location of a new Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company facility in the United States. Upstate New York is home to various chip factories, including those run by GlobalFoundries Inc. operating, so that area is also within sight.
