Samsung just revealed the 4K 240Hz Odyssey Neo G8 gaming monitor

Samsung has unveiled the latest in its line of high-end gaming monitors, the Odyssey Neo G8. It was announced on the company’s website along with a host of other brand new products. But, really, it’s the screen that’s the star of the show here. Samsung is doing a lot of really cool things with the Odyssey Neo G8, especially for next-gen gaming.
Samsung has been developing screens like this for a while. The company’s previous monitors like the Odyssey G7 and G9 were similarly curved gaming monitors. In particular, the Odyssey G9 stands out with its curved, ultra-wide design. The Neo G8 seems more limited in comparison, but a quick glance at the specs tells a different story.
Samsung doesn’t take any punches
Okay, the first thing to come up with here is that it’s actually a 4K monitor. This is impressive as it is a mini LED display that also runs at a refresh rate of 240 Hz. This is the first time we’ve seen a monitor like this and it will need a powerful graphics card to get the most out of it. If you manage to get a last year’s graphics card, even that may not be enough.
Other details for the display mention that it will be 32 inches in size. That’s a good size for a screen like this, especially if you can’t fit the massive 49-inch Odyssey G9 on your desk. It will also have the 1000R curve that both the G7 and G9 have. There will be two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 output, expected these days. There also appears to be an RGB light located on the back of the display, just like the G9. After all, if it doesn’t have RGB lighting, it’s not really a gaming monitor. Aesthetically, the body of the display will be white with black accents located on the frame and base. This is a very similar style to the Odyssey G9. Unfortunately, if you were hoping for a black screen this time around, you’ll need to keep wishing.
The price for the monitor is still unknown, but you can expect it to be quite expensive. There’s a lot going on here, and that usually means high prices. However, if you want to check some other screens, you can see a list of some the best here.
