Samsung adds water resistance to more Galaxy A series next year

Water resistance is a feature we often see in higher-end smartphones, but some Chinese brands offer some level of water resistance in their mid-range smartphones. And now, Samsung seems to be taking input from Chinese brands as the South Korean company is said to be planning to extend water resistance to cheaper Galaxy A series phones.
According to a report published by a Korean publication The ElecSamsung will release a few new Galaxy A smartphones with water resistance next year. The report also goes into detail on which Galaxy A phones will benefit from the IP rating. If the report is to be believed, the Galaxy A33, A53, A53 5G and A73 will be protected against water next year.
For now, the Galaxy A52 and A72 are the only Galaxy A phones to offer an IP67 rating, but that will all change next year. And by adding some level of waterproofing to more Galaxy A smartphones, Samsung wants to take on Chinese brands like Xiaomi and Oppo.
Meanwhile, Samsung will be busy for the next few months as the company will announce a few new products in January next year, including Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 FE. The company is currently busy testing the One UI 4.0 beta update with its high-end Galaxy phones.
