Two gunmen got out of the car as 14-year-old Samir Jefferson was waiting to catch a Philadelphia city bus from Thomas Edison High School just before 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Gunmen opened fire and Jefferson fled with a Rite Aid store on Wyoming Avenue. The gunmen continued to gallop away as they gave chase. Police would then use pieces of tape to mark a line of dozens of bullets across the bricks. Evidence markers numbered 1-35 will be placed by shell casings littered on the street.
Jefferson collapsed 200 feet away with 18 injuries. He became the third victim in two days to be pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital.
