Volition and Deep Silver announced that Saints Row reboot was delayed six months until August 2022.
“Our priority is to make the best Saints Row game, and if we were to release it on the original date, it wouldn’t be up to the standards we’ve set ourselves and you’re expecting and deserve,” said Jim. Boone, Creative Director at Volition, explains in one Statement on Twitter.
“The team just needed more time to do justice to our vision; we’re making some tweaks and there won’t be much to change in the game beyond the overall quality and polish,” the statement continued, assuring fans for better or worse that the style and the story of this reboot won’t change.
Previously Volition stated that they “do not give up on this game,” despite the backlash, everyone wasn’t too happy that the franchise and their favorite characters were rewritten. “We get it, it’s new and it’s a shock reaction to a reboot like no other.”
As with any delay, Boone went on to assure us that they are “confident that this is the right decision to make sure that the game is great when it comes out”, so hopefully six The extra polishing month is well worth the wait.
Volition’s Saints Row Reboot now out August 23, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC through the Epic Games Store.
