A: For younger readers, their entire life was formed by 9/11. In the event that they’re Muslim, or brown and appear like they’re Muslim, they’re handled like they’re the “enemy.” Loads of their mother and father have skilled discrimination at their jobs or misplaced associates. They’re on the receiving finish of this hatred. I needed to point out what occurs when all the nation resides in post-9/11 trauma: why there’s surveillance, and airport safety, of how, for those who’re Muslim you [aren’t considered] a patriot.
