Ryan Murphy’s Docuseries Recreate the artist’s voice using AI technology

“Andy Warhol’s greatest work of art is Andy Warhol,” new season begins intro video for Netflix’s upcoming documentary Andy Warhol Diary.

A six-part documentary produced by Ryan Murphy (Glee, Pose, American Horror Story, and pretty much every other TV comedy-drama of the last 10 years) delves into the life of the 20th-century icon. It offers a unique look at the thoughts and feelings most intimately of the artist by drawing from the diaries published after his posthumous. In fact, director Andrew Rossi (First Monday of May) used artificial intelligence to recreate Warhol’s voice, which was used to read diary entries.

You can hear the weird effect in the trailer. AI Andy recalls: “I wasn’t close to anyone, although I guess I wanted to be.

The trailer notes that the filmmakers have asked permission from the Andy Warhol Foundation to recreate his voice using AI – an important disclaimer following the controversy surrounding the Anthony documentary. Bourdain last year.

Roadrunner director Morgan Neville was arrested for using AI to make it appear that late chef and writer Bourdain, who died by suicide in 2018, read aloud a dark email he wrote to a friend before dying. The film makes no distinction between real Bourdain’s voice recordings and AI-generated narration, nor does it seek permission from Bourdain’s ex-wife, who tweeted her outcry.

In Andy Warhol Diary, Warhol’s diaries reveal the tragic sense of isolation beneath a prolific pop artist’s career, rubbings with celebrities and partying all night at Studio 54. Through interviews Featuring Hollywood and art world stars such as Julian Schnabel, Rob Lowe, Spike Lee, and John Waters, the trailer highlights Warhol’s unimaginable popularity and his enormous impact on all all areas of popular culture, from art, cinema to fashion. It also explores more elusive aspects of his life, such as his sexuality, his drug use, and his relationship with graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Andy Warhol’s Diary premieres March 9 on Netflix.
