This is how Ruby died in Peaky Blinders

In the latest episode, Tommy and Lizzie take Ruby to the hospital, where doctors confirm that their daughter has Digestive Disease, aka Tuberculosis. At first, one of Ruby’s lungs was infected; however, the infection spreads rapidly to both lungs. The doctors suggested two treatments to cure the disease, but in the end they decided to treat it with Gold Salts anyway.

On the other hand, Tommy thinks that the reason behind Ruby’s illness is a curse. So Tommy sought out Esme Shelby, John Shelby’s wife, thinking she was the one who cursed his daughter. However, Tommy soon realizes that he was wrong about Esme, and that Evadne Barwell may be behind the curse.

Apparently, Tommy left a Cursed Sapphire to Bethany Barwell, Evadne’s sister. He warned Bethany about the stone, but she still gave it to her sister. Evadne then put the stone around her daughter’s neck, who died the same day at the age of seven. Evadne then cursed Thomas Shelby for revenge.

So Tommy decided to go find that woman and ask her to break the curse. However, neither Tommy’s efforts nor the doctor’s treatment were enough to save Ruby, as she dies at the end of the episode. Ruby’s heartbreaking fate is discovered in the latest episode
