Rory McIlroy tosses club out of frustration after shot

Rory McIlroy is one of us. Anyway, that sort of thing. Of course, he is one of the best golfers in the world.
But he also messes up! And when he messes up, he gets pretty angry. Angry enough to throw his club. Just like us! Honestly, it was a bit refreshing.
That’s what happened at the British Open on Saturday on the 14th tee. McIlroy started with an iron on a par-5 hole and it went off the road and to the left for him. Obviously, that’s not where he wanted it to go. And, also very clearly, he was frustrated with his play.
Bored enough to just take his club across the pitch.

Oh that’s great. Been there before, Rory. As someone who is absolutely horrible at golf, I know this feeling well.
And who can honestly blame him? He played really well on the 9th front. He just couldn’t find his footing and it was obvious it was coming his way.

That’s right, I also want to play my club. Don’t worry, Rory. What happened to the best of us.
