Joe Root will step down as England’s test cricket captain. Root’s decision came after a 0-1 loss to the West Indies last month and a 4-0 loss to the Ashes to Australia in the winter. “It was the most challenging decision I’ve had to make in my career,” says Root. The 31-year-old striker holds the record for most wins as England’s test captain. His 27 wins put him one ahead of Michael Vaughan and three over Alastair Cook and Andrew Strauss.
