Rodolfo Vieira submits Dustin Stoltzfus

Rodolfo Vieira recovered from the first loss of his career with a brutal victory over Dustin Stoltzfus at UFC on ESPN 26.

After falling victim to one of the biggest upheaval of the year in February with a submission defeat to Anthony Hernandez, Vieira (8-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) got back on track with his own third-round submission win over Stoltzfus (13-3 MMA, 0- 2 UFC) at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Vieira showed an evolution in his game by beating Stoltzfus in the first place. However, he eventually bounced back from a standing position, and knocked his opponent to the mat with a bare back punch to finish at 1:54 of Round 3.

Watching his performance, Vieira was very emotional. He says he made big changes after losing his sole career and thinks it will be for the best going forward.

“I’ve been working a lot on my fundamentals and I’m trying to present myself perfectly well,” Vieira said through an interpreter in her post-match interview with Paul Felder. “I didn’t go into the takedown request and have been a lot calmer and I like that.”
