Rightists support Glenn Youngkin on vaccine rules and his LGBTQ staff

A serious case of buyer remorse seems to have occurred among some of the conservatives above vote Glenn Youngkin as Virginia’s next Republican governor.
Over the past week, outrage has flared among rightists and TrumpWorld allies, who are under the impression that Youngkin isn’t loyal enough to MAGA, on the grounds that he hired an LGBTQ employee and he refuses to block local missions related to COVID.
The blows began to fall on the newly elected governor earlier this week after he announced he would don’t try to block local masking and vaccination missions throughout the Old Dominion—a break from tougher Republican governors like Florida’s Ron DeSantis.
Right-wing media figures almost immediately publicly lashed out at the newly elected governor. Tom Fitton, founder of Jud Justice Watch against Youngkin for refusing to stand up to “abusive” masked missions, while the right-wing organization Federalist throw him under the bus for not being a “strong conservative governor.”
Right-wing talk radio hosts are as popular as alcohol. John Fredericks, host of a radio show on fringe channel The real voice of America, Youngkin suggests that turning on the Trump base helped elect him. “Two weeks into posting his election, we begin: Again with another RINO warning,” he announced, accusing the Virginia millionaire lawsuit winner of being “the Communist Party.” Peace Only in the name of”. Fredricks went on to criticize Youngkin for only appearing on his radio show when he “needed” votes from Steve Bannon’s die-hard MAGA fan base.
Elsewhere, rightists have protested against Youngkin for having an employee identify as part of the LGBTQ community.
Joshua Marin-Mora, a Georgetown University graduate turned Youngkin’s press assistant, faced a wave of right-wing hate this week over the pronoun “he/he” ” is displayed in his Twitter bio.
“So Youngkin picked a guy with pronouns in his bio to do his collaborative work, who also serves on the Georgetown Latinx Leadership Forum and supports pretty much everything our voters do. Youngkin voted against,” blow up Pedro L. Gonzalez, a writer for the influential Claremont Institute of Conservative Thought, in a series of tweets. When other Twitter users found pictures of Marin-Mora dressed in LGBTQ Pride, Gonzalez growled, “The new GOP is actually worse than the old GOP.”
The verbose topic of attacking Marin-Mora has been raised by conspiracy theorists like Pizzagate Jack Posobiec and far-right activist Lauren Witzke, while notably Fox News contributor Guy Benson to the young staff’s defense, writes that the employee is “Latino & LGBTQ [and] holds some unorthodox political views (as do most of us) but prides itself on being centre-right. And he went to great lengths to help Youngkin beat McAuliffe, especially with the Hispanics. Glenn good rental. ”
However, Marin-Mora’s existence in Youngkin’s team was enough let Gonzalez declare that the incoming governor “is putting a knife in the back of the people.” And former Newsmax host John Cardillo lament that LGTBQ employees are proof that “Youngkin is going to be another establishment disappointment.”
Marin-Mora did not immediately respond to The Daily Beast’s request for comment. Youngkin’s communications director, Matt Wolking, who took to Twitter to take note that Marin-Mora was considered a “valuable member” of the Republican political corps and that right-wing attacks on him were “ignorant and stupid”.
Questions have long been raised about whether Youngkin’s allegiance will lie with Trump’s base or with more moderate conservatives who have voted for him across Northern Virginia, an area dark purple area of the state.
In the final weeks of the campaign, Youngkin played cards close to his chest, as former President Donald Trump often extended the endorsement of the candidate trying to keep his distance from the former president. Before the election in early November, countless MAGA allies found Youngkin’s delicate dance around embracing Trump to be absolutely flawless.”excellent. ”
