Conclusion of Resident Evil: Village leave us with lots of questionsand fans are ready for Resident Evil 9 release date to receive an answer. The eighth major entry in the series is due out in 2021, so it will be a while before we have RE9, which puts the platforms it will launch on into question. We’ll see when we might see a sequel to RE8 below.

What is the release date for Resident Evil 9?

Capcom has yet to confirm a release date for Resident Evil 9. However, many rumors have said that a Resident Evil 4 remake is in the works, and that will almost certainly be released before RE9. So we guess it will decrease in 2024 or 2025.

We have many questions after completing RE: Village, and some of them may be the focus of RE9. Yes DLC is in development that may give us some answers, but we have some good guesses as to what the plot of Resident Evil 9 will be about.

We know that Chris Redfield and the Hound Wolf Squad have basically gone rogue. Chris claims that BSAA is no longer trustworthy and rife with corruption. In the closing moments of RE: Village, his beliefs were proven correct when he discovered that at least some of the BSAA soldiers were actually Bio-Organic Weapons. This discovery means that the BSAA is essentially using the technology they were founded to fight with.

There’s a chance Resident Evil 9 could put the whole series in circles, with Chris joining the BSAA alongside Leon, Claire, Jill, Barry and other surviving allies. However, no details have been revealed yet and the game is likely to release in a few years, so there’s no way to know for sure.

What platforms is RE9 releasing on?

As it will be several years until the release of RE9, we highly doubt it will have a final generation version. Capcom was unhappy about releasing RE: Village on PS4 and Xbox One, and only did so after a shortage of consoles and fan demand. It is clear that the company wants to go ahead and focus development on PS5, Xbox Series X | S and PC, and that will likely be the case with the RE9.
