Application “Mountain Rescue” is intended for the registration of tourist trips and for notifying the mountain search and rescue units of the Ukrainian SES of a threat to life or health.
Use only in case of danger to life. One wrong call leads to administrative liability.
You can report the incident to SES by calling or texting. The SMS or Internet messages sent by the application include the coordinates of your location. Try sending a message first. In this way, you will speed up the organization and conduct of search and rescue operations.
Note: The application does not perform background actions. Dim the smartphone screen or minimize the application window to stop determining the coordinates and wait for a response from the server. When determining the coordinates, the smartphone consumes a significant amount of current, so the application avoids uncontrolled actions that affect the remaining battery charge.
Do not minimize application windows when determining coordinates. If the smartphone screen turns off before the coordinates are determined – unlock it. Determined coordination will continue. If it is not possible to locate the coordinates or send a message, assess the situation and determine where conditions are more favorable. Get it and try again. Optimal conditions for radio signal transmission are achieved in the open state.
The application will send the message once. In the event of a random failure due to the absence or weak signal level of the mobile network, repeated attempts will not be made. If you are using an SMS application that supports retransmission, select the “Settings” option “default application” in the “Send SMS” menu.
Tourist registration allows you to get initial information about missing people and narrow down the area of ​​search and rescue operations.
To communicate with SES, the application uses a separate phone number. Sending SMS messages is only available to registered users. In other cases, call 112 (toll free in Ukraine).
