Learning a new MMO can be a daunting process, but Final Fantasy 14 has a mentoring system where qualified players can volunteer to help newcomers.
While it had a rough start, Final Fantasy 14 has been operating for more than 10 years. According to its director, Naoki Yoshida, Final Fantasy 14 just passed over 24 million players, just in time for the new Endwalker expansion.
Despite the hype, getting into an established MMO can be daunting for new players. Lots of new mechanics and features can be accumulated over a decade of design. When Final Fantasy 14 quite newbie-friendly, it can still be an obstacle to get used to.
Thankfully, along with the in-game instructions, Final Fantasy 14 Community-driven to make it easy for new players to join. The game includes a mentoring system, allowing experienced players to appoint themselves as guides for new players. However, they must pass certain requirements before being accepted.
Types of Mentors in Final Fantasy 14
There are enough mechanics in Final Fantasy 14 It’s unreasonable to expect one player to know everything. With that in mind, the game established two different types of advisor roles. There are combat advisors and trade advisors. The combat mentor focuses on Final Fantasy 14PvP and PVE combat ofand commercial advisors focused on the game’s mining, fishing, and crafting systems. Players should note that these are not exclusive roles. One can win the right to be both, but the requirements to do so are pretty tough, all taken together.
Combat Mentor’s Request
To become a combat mentor in FF14, players need to pass the following milestones:
- They have to go through 1000 dungeons, raids or trials.
- They must get 1500 compliments from players.
- They must complete both the quests “To Have Loved and Lost” and “The Soul of Temperance.”
- They must complete the quest “Courage Born of Fear” or “A tearful reunion.”
Trade Advisor Requirements
To become a commercial advisor in FF14, players need to pass the following milestones:
- They need to find 300 collections in the game.
- They need to compile 100 other in-game collectibles themselves.
- They need to be level 80 in mining, botany or fishing.
- They needed to reach level 80 in carpentry, blacksmithing, armoring, jewelry, leathermaking, weaving, alchemy, or cooking.
Once a player has passed all of these achievements, they simply need to talk to one of the game’s blacksmiths to register themselves as a mentor. From there, they gain access to the Novice Network chat channel and can use daily roulette to randomly place themselves in lower-tier parties.
